DESCRIPTION:1-Day Course:\nThe objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment and/or to support a role in the workplace.\nThis qualification is aimed at learners who already hold an SIA licence or who are civil enforcement staff or community accredited safety persons. This programme covers knowledge and skills on the use of mechanical restraints in a safe and lawful manner. It covers the following content to ensure qualified learners are competent within that area of work:\n\nthe types of mechanical restraint (handcuffs);\nthe law and good practice guidelines in relation to the use of mechanical restraints;\nimportance of safe working practices and how to respond to medical difficulties;\npost-incident considerations and the importance of reporting; and\nbe able to safely apply and remove mechanical restraints (handcuffs) to a compliant and a non-compliant subject\n\nEntry requirements:\nTo register for this qualification, learners must be 18+.
