7-Days Course:
This qualification is for candidates who are currently working or looking to work as: – Safety Steward, Security Officer, Response Stewards.
The awarding body for this qualification is Highfield.
The qualification is mapped to the Skills Active Spectator Safety National Occupational Standards, recommended as the minimum level qualification in the SGSA’s green guide for Safety and Sports Ground.
This is the standard qualification for accessing frontline employment within events and crowd control including stadium’s, festivals, arenas, retail centres and is specific to training people on dealing with crowds.
COURSE OVERVIEW
To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 5 Units:
- Unit 1: Prepare for Spectator Events
- Unit 2: Assist with the movement of Spectators and Deal with crowd issues at events
- Unit 3: Help to Manage & Resolve Conflict
- Unit 4: Deal with Incidents at Spectator Events
- Unit 5: Support the work of your team and Organisation
you will also be required to undertake NACTSO’s ACT Awareness and ACT Security online modules
WORK PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENT
This qualification requires candidates to complete a work/industry placement experience throughout the duration of the qualification before certification. Your tutor/assessor will visit you in your place of work to undertake observation of practice and practical assessments around your normal working/placement patterns.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be employed earning less than 23k
- Must have a Greater Manchester Postcode
- Must be over the age of 19
- Must be living in UK from last 3 years
- Undertake a basic English assessment prior to the course
